Dairy nutrition - Harness hidden potential |
 |
Ruminants are highly specialised herbivores. Their key speciality lies in converting relatively fibrous and low quality feeds into high quality end products such as meat and milk.
Dairy cow rations typically contain between 35 and 45% NDF (neutral detergent fibre). This is by far the largest portion of the diet. Even in intensive dairy diets, starch, protein and oil are present in much lower proportions than NDF.

Offer made by Cargill to acquire Provimi |

The Provimi Group, a leading, global animal nutrition business, today announces that a binding offer has been received from Cargill to acquire Provimi from the Permira funds for an enterprise value of EUR 1.5 billion. Provimi has agreed with Cargill to commence the necessary Works Council consultations and appropriate anti-trust processes, on an exclusive basis.

Judith Potters, customer services manager for EMEA
Judith Potters is the new customer services manager for EMEA – Europe, Middle East and Africa. “A big area and a big challenge’ is how Judith describes her role of two months but one that she is excited about.
“I’m spending the first six months of my time with Provimi in the Netherlands, looking at the processes in the supply chain and how we might streamline and improve them,” she says. “Then we can use the Netherlands as a blueprint for other countries
